3rd June 2018

Route. Old Dungeon Ghyll - Mickleden - Rossett Gill - Angle Tarn - Esk Hause - Esk Pike - Ore Gap - Bowfell - Three Tarns - The Band - Old Dungeon Ghyll. ( about 8.5 miles 3250ft ascent )

Sue, Mark and I headed out from Great Langdale today on another day of fine warm weather although the cloud did get up later in the afternoon.

Heading out along Mickleden, the Band straight ahead separating Crinkle Crags on the left from Bowfell.

"Never mind Pike "O" Stickle look at me I'm standing on a rock".

I'm sure it wont take long to refill them but a lot of the minor streams are bone dry.

View back down the valley from the Rossett Gill path.

Zooming in past Sue to Lingmoor Fell..

Angle Tarn and Rossett Pike from our lunch spot.

On the path to Esk Hause and Great End appears.

Great End with Great and Green Gable beyond.

At the crossroads we take a left and head for Esk Pike

.

The river Esk and Great Moss from Esk Pike..

Bowfell from the walk down to Ore Gap

And Esk Pike from the walk away from Ore Gap..

View down to upper Eskdale from Bowfell. Lingcove Beck is the river dropping down to join the Esk..

Moody Scafells.

Looking down onto the Great Slab.

And looking down the slab from the top.

The afternoon has become a bit dark now although the Coniston fells are getting a bit of sun.

Browny Gill from The Band..

Back to the valley now and Bowfell has disappeared into the cloud.
